Structural configuration: The Monastery is an ecclesiastical complex marked by a mature ecclesiastical style, with a revival of the Gothic style of Nordic influence, rare in Italy, of unusual interpretative capacity and originality. Of the original design for the neo-Gothic church with an unfinished façade due to the rejection by the Ornate Commission, the brick façade, rose window, portal and beautiful portico connecting the church and school remained. The rear part continued to be used as a cloister garden and a protected enclosure for the school.

In the 2000s, the roof of Saint Benedict Monastery underwent a complete renovation that featured the use of Ardogres Stone Grey - Grigio Pietra 40X40 shingles. This was used to replace the roofing "ardesia" slate, thus maintaining the same aesthetics, essential in a religious building of this importance, as well as subject to historical and cultural constraints.

This project demonstrates the great adaptability of Ardogres tiles to be used in historical contexts and for the roofing of culturally significant buildings. In fact, the Ardogres porcelain stoneware tile is, to all intents and purposes, a slate or ceramic stone. The production process using selected clays and firing at over 1,220° actually recreates the conditions that lead to the formation of stones existing in nature, with the advantage of being able to obtain a product that is light (25 kg/sqm), non-absorbent, resistant and impervious to external agents such as acids, mosses and lichens.
